Which one gets to 50,000 feet faster?
Interestingly the Streak Eagle gets to 15,000 meters 10 seconds faster than the Saturn V. Neat. From there the Saturn V kinda walks away from the Eagle...

Pretty impressive that something that weighs north of 6 million pounds can out accelerate an Eagle.

Yeah, it makes a kind of sense when you remember how much mass the Saturn V is attempting to accelerate but its still pretty remarkable that from dead stopped on a runway to 50,000 feet the jet fighter wins over the rocket to the moon.

Yeah, those time to climb attempts have always been fascinating to me.

Thrust to weight comparison would be awesome.

The streak eagle was lightened so I would guess 40,000 lbs loaded for 47540 lbs of thrust for a ratio of about 1.185:1. The Saturn V had a takeoff thrust to weight of about 1.1:1

That only works if you assume spherical chickens .

The Eagle is still perhaps the greatest pure jet fighter that was ever produced. Looks like they went without paint as part of the weight savings.

yup, no paint or unnecessary avionics.
